Centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation - MEV

Centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation or MEV is a ventilation system which continuously extracts air at a low rate. It is a low energy, continuous ventilation system designed with multiple extract points to remove wet air from the wet areas in the home ( bathrooms, kitchen, WC’s, utility, ensuite etc).

The system operates by monitoring the moisture levels in these areas and removing it via the central fan unit which is programmed to the specific ventilation requirements of your home. The replacement air is supplied via wall vents in the habitable rooms (bedrooms, living areas etc) and as such there is less ducting required.

This form of ventilation will remove excess moisture from the air which will help mitigate condensation and the build up of mould as well as removing harmful gases and radon that are drawn to the negative air spaces within most homes creating a warm and healthy living environment for you and family.
